What are dental implants?
An implant is a synthetic replacement for a missing tooth.  The implant, made of titanium metal, is embedded into the bone where it serves as an artificial root.  Once the implant is in place, a dental prosthesis is permanently secured.  Implants are a long-term solution to restoring or enhancing your natural smile.  Dr. Minh Pham and Dr. Anh Pham work together to create implants for missing teeth, a single missing tooth, or to replace a removable appliance.

What if I’m not concerned about the appearance of a missing tooth?

There are still reasons for dental implants! When a tooth is lost, the surrounding teeth begin to shift into the empty spaces, resulting in a bad bite in which the opposing teeth do not fit well together.  This may impair chewing, create jaw joint problems, and cause facial changes.  Cheeks and jawlines may collapse and sink in, lips may thin, and pouches may appear on the sides of your jaws—all of these problems may cause you to lose your natural smile.
